<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system equipped with a small reforming device capable of generating a hydrogen-rich reformed gas from a liquid fuel by using a reform reaction by supercritical water. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system S has a fuel cell 6 for generating power by reacting a fuel gas reformed in a reforming device 13 with an oxidizer gas. The reforming device 13 is provided with: a pressurization pump 51 for pressurizing a mixed liquid of the liquid fuel and water to pressure above the critical pressure of water; a burner 52 for producing a reform liquid by heating the mixed liquid to a temperature above the critical temperature of water; a heat exchanger 56 for executing heat exchange between the mixed liquid before being heated by the burner 52 and the reform liquid after heating; a heat radiator 53 for cooling the reform liquid at a subsequent stage of the heat exchanger 56; and a gas-liquid separator 54 for separating the reform gas and water from the reform liquid cooled by the heat radiator 53. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
