<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device using a method for checking the loading of a recording sheet in such a state that its face/back are correctly in place as they should be, even in case for example, the recording sheet has a pattern, a scribbling or perforations on the back. <P>SOLUTION: The method has the following procedures to undergo: a step to convey the recording sheet in a forward direction by controlling the rotation of a conveyance motor; a step to obtain information within a specified range of the recording sheet with the help of a printing confirmation sensor, during conveying the recording sheet in the forward direction and retain the obtained information (a first piece of information) in memory; a step to return the recording sheet by a predetermined amount by conveying it in a reverse direction under the control of a conveyance motor; a step to perform a test printing operation for print confirmation by a printing part by conveying the printing sheet in the forward direction under the rotary control of the conveyance motor; a step to obtain test printing information (a second piece of information) assigned to the recording sheet with the help of the print confirmation sensor during conveying the recording sheet in the forward direction; and a step to collate the first piece of information retained in memory with the second piece of information and judge whether the relationship between the two pieces of information are as specified, as a result of the collation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
