<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting method and a surface mounting machine with which load control is more precisely performed while high mounting speed is maintained with a simple and inexpensive structure. <P>SOLUTION: A surface mounting machine is provided with a head unit 6, a suction nozzle 16a sucking an electronic component, a drive means 26 for ascending/descending, a control means for controlling an ascending/descending position of the suction nozzle 16a, and a pressing means for pressing the electronic component through the suction nozzle 16a when the electronic component is sucked or is loaded or solution-transferred on a substrate. The pressing means is also provided with a load input means in which a load changes in accordance with a pushing amount of the suction nozzle 16a and inputs a setting load at the time of pressing by the pressing means. The control means calculates the pushing amount corresponding to the setting load based on a data table showing a relation of the pushing amount of the suction nozzle 16a and the load, and drops the suction nozzle 16a by the calculated pushing amount at the time of pressing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
