PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator assembly for an alternator. SOLUTION: In the stator assembly, a clip with the shape which fits densely in one of core slots extended in between the first end and the second end of a stator core, is used as the lining of the core slot. The clip made of a magnetic permeable material has a U-shape which has a back end and a pair of leg members, and an opening is formed between the leg members. A stator winding has a substantially linear wire segment received in the clip, and the linear segment and the clip are insulated electrically from each other. At least one side of the leg members narrows the opening between the leg members by being folded on the part of the linear segment in the clip. Each clip and the linear segment are inserted into each core slot. To reduce an eddy current loss, a slit is provided in the clip. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
