PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a power amplifier due to the variation of the antenna matching condition in a radio apparatus. SOLUTION: When the matching condition of an antenna varies due to the change of the antenna itself or the environment of a radio apparatus, the radio apparatus detects its variation from the variation of the reflection quantity or the current consumption of a power amplifier. If this variation is detected, the antenna is connected to a terminator or a matching element or uses a spare antenna having no variation of the matching to change the matching itself of the antenna.
