PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide device for a top-hinged swinging door, which positively holds a guide pin and stably guides the top-hinged swinging door. SOLUTION: The guide device for the top-hinged swinging door is formed of a floor surface installation member 1 which includes a case 3 installed in a floor surface 2, and the guide pin 4 housed in the case 3 in a manner protrudable upward; and a guide groove member 14 which is arranged on a door body 5 and allows insertion of the protruded guide pin 4 of the floor surface installation member 1. The guide pin 4 has a narrowed portion 72 formed at a midpoint thereof, and a groove width of an opening edge 14b formed in the guide groove member 14 is made wider than the width of the guide pin 4 only on ends 5a of the door body 5. Thus the opening edge 14b of the guide groove member 14 is fitted on the narrowed portion 72 of the guide pin 4 from the side at a center portion 5c of the door body 5 except for the ends 5a of the same, and in this manner the guide pin 4 is held.
