The motor-driven emergency door unlocking system (4) has a motor (6) with a cylindrical housing (7). It is connected to a gearbox (8) with a drive shaft (10). The motor is activated by a pull handle enclosed behind a security lid (106) attached to a baseplate (104) screwed to the wall. The lid may be opened by a key or personal identification system (108) which may consist of fingerprint sensor or keypad for entering a PIN. The pull handle is attached to a Bowden (RTM) cable (26) attached to a bracket (28) on the gearbox. A tension coil spring (29) connects the end of the Bowden (RTM) cable to an actuation lever (11) on the gearbox.
