The book covers are made by bringing the coating material (21) to a glueing station (25) and there applying adhesive to the underside of the material. The cardboard cover (28) is put on a suction table (26) in a vacuum station and there the coating material's glued side is laid and pressed on to the card. The card and coating are turned on the way to the wrapping station (39,40) so that the cardboard side is face up. Then the corners of the coating material are folded and pressed onto the card, and its side edges (35,36) are treated likewise, and the finished cover (43) taken off.
