<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can be miniaturized, in particular, by reducing its height. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, when a second recording medium supply device 102 is attached to an image forming apparatus main body 12, a main body front face 130 and a unit guide 114 serve as a guide for guiding a recording medium, and a recording medium conveyance path 132 is formed from a pickup roll 110 to a registration roll 32 via conveyance rolls 116a, 116b, 118a, and 118b, and a recording medium passage opening 26. An exposure device 60 is almost vertically disposed in front of a rotary developing unit 38 and between the image carrier 50 and a unit conveyance guide part 112 so as to be almost parallel to the unit conveyance guide part 112.
