<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high temperature heat exchanger having a high degree of freedom in design and manufacture and reduced cost. <P>SOLUTION: The high temperature heat exchanger comprises a plurality of tubes 19 each having a flow path for one fluid formed inside and a container body 18 provided outside the plurality of tubes 19 to form a flow path for the other fluid. Accesses 36, 37 for one fluid are formed at both ends of the tubes 19 and accesses 34, 35 for the other fluid are formed in a peripheral wall 33 of the container body 18. A required space 29 is formed between the side of the tube 19 and the peripheral wall 33 of the container body 18.
