<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely connect a computer to peripheral devices of the computer via a wireless LAN, without the risk of being connected to the wireless LAN system of a neighboring house or flowing of private data to the neighboring houses, even if the wireless LAN is used in the neighboring houses, in the collective housing, such as condominium or in the residential area of a city. <P>SOLUTION: The encryption key and ID of the wireless LAN equipment of a computer peripheral device are calculated, on the basis of a serial number of the computer peripheral device and stored in the wireless LAN equipment of a computer peripheral device. Meanwhile, for the encryption key and ID of a computer connected by radio to the computer peripheral device, the serial number of the computer peripheral device is inputted, when a driver software of the computer peripheral device is installed, and the encryption key and ID of the wireless LAN equipment are calculated over the computer, which is stored in the wireless LAN equipment of the computer, thus allowing the same ID and encryption key as the computer peripheral device to be set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
