<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for efficient multi-task processing in wide band processing environment using a shared memory. <P>SOLUTION: A system includes a shared memory, a memory interface unit that is coupled to the shared memory and operates to retrieve data from the shared memory at requested addresses, and to write data to the shared memory at the requested addresses and a plurality of processing units in communication with a memory interface and (i) to instruct the memory interface unit that data are loaded with reservation from the shared memory at a specified address such that any operations may be performed on the data and (ii) to instruct the memory interface unit that the data are stored in the shared memory at the specified address, wherein at least one of the processing units includes a status register indicating whether a reservation is lost, whether the data at the specified address in the shared memory are modified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
