<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably make ammonia to nitrite form nitrogen from a gas containing a high concentration of the ammonia using a microorganism. <P>SOLUTION: The subject device is provided with a microorganism carrier storage vessel 10 in which a microorganism carrier 11 carried with ammonia oxidation bacteria for converting ammonia to nitrite is stored and introduction of ammonia gas can be carried out; a sprinkling facility 12 for sprinkling water to the microorganism carrier storage vessel; a circulation water storage vessel 20 for recovering and storing the water sprinkled to the microorganism carrier storage vessel 10 as circulation water; means 23, 28, 26, 30 for adjusting the ammonium ion concentration or nitrite base nitrogen concentration of the circulation water; and sprinkling lines 21, 22 for transferring the circulation water to the sprinkling facility. The microorganism carrier storage vessel is made to environment suitable for the ammonia oxidation bacteria and unsuitable for the nitrite oxidation bacteria and activity of the nitrite oxidation bacteria is suppressed while maintaining the activity of the ammonia oxidation bacteria to stably convert ammonia to the nitrite-form nitrogen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
