摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe for transporting a low-temperature liquid such as a liquefied natural gas, which transports a liquefied gas in an environment in air, under the ground or at the bottom of the sea. <P>SOLUTION: A heat-insulating pipe for transporting a low-temperature liquid is constituted of three species of coaxial pipes formed from a cylindrical member, i.e., an inner pipe 2 produced from a material having a small thermal expansion coefficient, an intermediate pipe 3 and an outer pipe 4 produced from carbon steel, and heat insulating materials 7, 8 provided in an annular space between the inner pipe 2 and the intermediate pipe 3. In order to connect cylindrical members 2a, 2b, ..., 3a, 3b, 3c, ... 4a, 4b, ..., respectively, of the respective pipes on one hand, and to receive the forces due to thermal contraction when the pipes change in temperature for the purpose of imposing a limit upon the forces on the other hand, each two of the pipes 2, 3, 4 are connected using coupling joints 5, 6. The cylindrical member 3b of the intermediate pipe 3 is produced to have a length sufficient to operate together with the coupling joints 5, 6 at the assembling time to inhibit the formation of a heat conduction bridge between the inner and outer pipes 2 and 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
