PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply computing parameters indicating the condition of a monitoring object, method for monitoring the monitoring object by using the parameters, parameter computing device, condition monitoring device, condition monitoring system, and computer program. SOLUTION: When abnormality occurs in one rolling element as an initial failure at a rolling bearing having m pieces of rolling elements, vibration data including large peaks for every m peaks are acquired. The data indicating the condition of the monitoring object such as rolling bearings are measured by a sensor 31, and acquired by a data acquisition apparatus 32. The condition monitoring device 1 calculates a parameter C<SB>N+L</SB>(4) indicating the condition of the monitoring object using a simple expression from a ratio s of magnitude (absolute value) of a large peak with respect to a peak (data) other than the large peak (large data) and the number of peaks (the number of data) m included in the vibration data in response to one large peak. The C<SB>N+L</SB>(4) is 0 normally, and it is determined that the abnormality has occurred in the monitoring object when the value of C<SB>N+L</SB>(4) is larger than a reference value.
