PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing unit which can surely cancel a maintenance and inspection mode and can raise operating ratio of the unit. SOLUTION: A maintenance and inspection system 20 of the processing unit has; a relay switch 22 interlocked with a main power supply; a maintenance key switch 24 which can be switched by a maintenance key; a warning light 26; a warning buzzer 28; and a UPS 30 which functions as a backup power supply. When a maintenance person forgets to remove a maintenance key and turns off the main power supply, power is supplied from a UPS 30 to the warning light 26 and the warning buzzer, the warning light 26 is turned on and the warning buzzer operates, and the maintenance person is warned that the maintenance inspection mode is not canceled.
