IMAGE PICKUP APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a normal image pickup and a photographing under a low luminance environment compatible in an image pickup apparatus provided with a spectral prism type optical system unit. SOLUTION: Photographing light is spectrally split by a spectral prism 9 arranged in an image forming area R of the photographing light beam controlled by lens groups 1a-1d for controlling beams so as to form an image of the photographing light. Respective light components split by the spectral prism 9 are respectively picked up as images by an imaging device 2. An infrared component in the photographing light in beam controlling is removed by an infrared cut filter 8. The infrared cut filter 8 is moved back and forth by a mechanism unit 14a between a position on a photographing light optical path and a position separated from the optical path. In the constitution, the infrared cut filter 8 and the mechanism unit 14a are arranged in the beam converging area R of the photographing light in beam controlling by the lens groups 1a-1d.
