PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a gate signal width variable according to the source potential to be written in order to assure a panel charging time. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 is provided with TFTs of respective pixels in compliance with a prescribed TFT arrangement pattern in such a manner the inversion driving of every vertical two dots can be performed. A scanning line driving circuit applies a gate signal longer in the gate pulse width Tp when the drain signal of a positive polarity is applied by a signal line driving circuit than the gate pulse width Tn when the drain signal of a negative polarity is applied.
