PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the same gradation display as conventional devices with the smaller number of sub-fields by realizing gradation conversion equivalent to dither processing while suppressing the occurrence of noise like flicker or blinking. SOLUTION: A plasma display device has LUTs 12A to 12D and a sequence control circuit 13, and input pixel data and pixel driving data indicating sub-fields to be selected are stored in the LUTs 12A to 12D correspondingly to each other, and the sequence control circuit 13 generates a control pattern wherein four kinds of designation information for designating a LUT to be selected are arranged correspondingly to respective pixels of an input image, and discriminate which position the pixel data of a processing object of the input image corresponds to on the control pattern, and selects a LUT designated by designation information in the discriminated position. LUTs are so set that centroids of light emission of two cells which emit light in accordance with outputs of two LUTs designated by different designation information arranged so as to be adjacent to each other in an oblique direction in the control pattern coincide with each other approximately.
