PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging device having a folding unit which generates no improper folding lines or wrinkles in a wrapping sheet. SOLUTION: The folding unit of this packaging device is provided with a folder (1) which indicates one fixed block (4) and one movable block (6) forming continuous adjoining flat surfaces (5, 7) along one folding line. The movable block (6) is operated by an articulated parallelogram operating means (8) having two connecting rods (20, 21) connected by cranks (22, 23) pin-connected to the block (4) so that the block (4) rotates with each axis parallel to the folding line as the center. The movable block (6) is pin-connected to the two connecting rods (20, 21) and is so structured that the block (4) forms another crank turning with an axis (11) matching the folding line as the center.
