An integrally molded plastic drum closure overcap (10) for application over a primary dispensing-closure (1, 3, 7) and having a top (11) with a depending skirt (14) surrounded by a tamper-detecting band (12) and a frangible connection (23) between upper portions of the tamper band and cap skirt; the tamper band being linked to a tear strip (19) formed in the cap skirt and top; so as to enable destructive removal of the cap from the closure using the tamper band as a ring pull member.
