<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain translation to be displayed in a display mode corresponding to a text. <P>SOLUTION: A registration information acquiring part 24 makes a text storing part 31 store the character string of a text described in an inputted text file 13a and its character attribute information, and makes a translation storing part 32 store the character string of translation described in an inputted translation file 13b and its character attribute information. When a new document file 11 is inputted, a character string acquiring part 21 acquires the character string of the text from the new document file 11. Then, a character string retrieval part 22 retrieves the same character string as the acquired character string from a text storing part 31, and extracts the character string of translation corresponding to the retrieved character string and the character attribute information of the character string from the translation storing part 32.
