PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display device in which a short circuit on an intersection of an upper wire (a drain wire) intersecting with a lower wire (a gate wire) is reliably prevented. SOLUTION: On at least one side part of the gate wire 2 in the vicinity of a region intersecting with the drain wire 6, one or more recessing parts 13 recessing in the extension direction of the drain wire 6 are formed with a width larger than the width of the drain wire 6. The gate wire 2 has a double layer structure of Mo/Al, etc., and an end face of the gate wire 2 is tapered. By arranging the recessing parts 13 with a sufficient width, the intrusion route of an etching liquid is made to be long enough, and by tapering the end face of the gate wire 2, a step produced on the drain wire 6 is moderated so as to suppress the deterioration of film quality and the reduction of film thickness in the step part. Consequently, the disconnection of the drain wire 6 on the intersection with the gate wire 2 is reliably prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
