PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retarder device of a vehicle easily post-fittable additionally without changing an engine body for mounting a retarder. SOLUTION: An engine 13 is supported on a vehicle body 4 through elastic support bodies 18 and 18 such as vibration control rubber. A retarder case 22 to which the stator 21 of the retarder 20 is fixed is fixed to a vehicle body 4 near the front of a radiator 20 installed at the rear end of an engine room 6. A rotor 23 rotatably supported on the retarder case 22 is connected to the crankshaft 24 of the engine 13 through a joint 25 for power transmission.
