<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device of a hybrid vehicle capable of shifting gears with high gear shift quality while suppressing energy consumption. <P>SOLUTION: In the drive device of the hybrid vehicle, a gear assembly 20A to 20F capable of transmitting power by selecting dog clutches 21A to 21C is disposed between an output shaft 6 and input shafts 11 and 12, a first input shaft 11 can be connected to an engine 1 through a first clutch C1, and a second input shaft 12 is connected to a motor generator 3. Also, a transmission capable of being connected through a second clutch C2 is mounted on the first input shaft 11. When a drive force request from a driver is equal to or more than a threshold, a vehicle speed is equal to or less than a threshold, and the motor generator 3 is at an operating point where a torque assist is enabled, a control means 14 brings the motor generator 3 in a torque assist state when a drive mode is changed from a motor generator drive traveling to an engine drive traveling.
