<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminous body formed like a cane or other solids, which has a light source blinked by a blinking mechanism and has a light storing material stimulated to not only emit light but also store light when lighting and emits light even when extinguishing and has an extinction period made longer than a lighting period to reduce the consumption of a battery. <P>SOLUTION: A solid body formed like a cane or others is formed by providing a coating film 3 made of a light storing pigment, on transparent plastics or glass or mixing a light storing pigment in a transparent plastic or glass material, and a blinking member 6 and a light emission source 5 like an electric bulb or an LED connected to the blinking member 6 are attached to the solid body 1 in opposition to each other, and by blinking of the light emitting source 5 by operation of the blinking member 6, light is emitted and stored when lighting, and light is emitted even when extinguishing, by light storage, and thus a luminous body for safety and/or decoration which continuously emits light during blinking is obtained.
