<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recycle a recycling material such as a unnecessary part or defective product produced at the time of forming and to use it without any problem by quickly and surely making the composition in the recycling material, particularly Fe content approach that of a virgin Mg alloy. <P>SOLUTION: In the Mg alloy material recycling method comprising molten metal preparing steps (S2 and S5) of melting the Mg alloy material to be recycled and composition adjusting steps (S16 and S17) of adding iron component reducing material into the molten metal, an inspection step (S11) of measuring at least the content of Fe component by sampling a part of the molten metal before the component adjusting steps (S16 and S17) are performed, and when the content of Fe component measured in the inspection step (S11) exceeds a prescribed value, the component adjusting steps (S16 and S17) are performed.
