PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a blue back image under uniform state having no irregular color. SOLUTION: The image processor comprises a chroma circuit 15 generating chroma signals separated for each prime color component from an inputted video signal, a control section 13 for interrupting a video signal being inputted to the chroma circuit 15 temporarily by an interruption signal V-MUTE and generating chroma signals EXT-R, G, B of a predetermined background color being displayed during interruption and delivered to the chroma circuit 15, and a delay gate circuit 23 for delaying input of a color component signal EXT-B corresponding to the background color in an image signal being displayed during interruption to the chroma circuit 15 based on the interruption signal V-MUTE outputted from the control section 13 and delayed by a predetermined time.
