CYLINDER HEAD GASKET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head gasket with a higher performance by forming beads contributing to an increase in sealability on a compound material while using a composite base material with a compound layer on both surfaces of a core. SOLUTION: This cylinder gasket 1 is formed of a compound base material f having the compound layer 2 formed by coating a compound material mixed made by mixing a rubber with fiber materials on the surface of a steel sheet core 3 and interposed between a cylinder block and a cylinder head. The composite base material f comprises annular beads 6 of chevron shape in cross section formed by raising the compound layer 2 at corresponding positions around a cylinder bore. The annular beads 6 are so formed that their top parts are projected from the surface of the compound layer 2, and skirt parts 13 on both sides thereof are formed in two lines of grooves recessed from the surface of the compound layer.
