PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet which supports independent excretion and solves the behavior problem that an old person with dementia and cognitive deficit discharges his urine or stool outside of a toilet, and that pollutes his clothes and other things because he can not recognize a Western-style toilet as a toilet and because he can remember a Japanese-style toilet and therefore performs daily excretion by squatting. SOLUTION: A Japanese-style portable toilet with a hand rail for supporting bending movement is placed where the old person may discharge his urine or stool. He tends to recognize a familiar Japanese-style toilet as a toilet. Gripping the hand rail supports squatting and standing up. Therefore, he can perform independent excretion.
