PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper quickly and flexibly fitting around a waist portion hardly making a gap between a body and the same. SOLUTION: In the disposable diaper 1, a thread or strip of elastic member 71 and a strip of cushion material 17 constituted of a low resilient urethane foam are arranged at least at one of a abdominal side A and a back side B in a peripheral rim portion of a waist opening portion 7. A gather is formed in the peripheral rim portion.
