The system has several heating boilers fitted with thermostats and temperature sensors, an electrical or electronic controller and a hydraulic attachment group, pipework, fittings and pumps. A conventional heating system has a heat exchanger (1) and one or more loads, especially a heating circuit and/or a hot water preparation device, a second heat exchanger (2), especially a heating boiler operated with regenerative energy media and a buffer storage device (3) hydraulically connected so that the loads can be hydraulically connected to the first or second heat exchanger or to both. An independent claim is also included for a hydraulic control unit for retrofitting a heating system with a second heat exchanger and a buffer storage device.
