The air nozzle and relief valve assembly for use with a vertically standing tyre inflation pump has an air nozzle (10), a filling connector arrangement (13) fitted in the first end (11) of the air nozzle, an operating lever (14) connected to the filling connector to move it between an open position to allow passage of air to an inflatable object (40) connected to the first end of the nozzle and a closed position to block the passage of air, and a relief valve fitted in the air nozzle in the connection to the air passage (15) and selectively controlled to relieve air to atmosphere.
