POLYSULFONE-BASED SELECTIVELY PERMEATIVE HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE BUNDLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE THEREOF

A polysulfone-based selectively permeative hollow fiber membrane bundle which is manufactured by piling up a plurality of polysulfone-based selectively permeative hollow fiber membranes wherein a hydrophilic polymer is eluted from the hollow fiber membrane in an amount of 10 ppm or less and the content of said hydrophilic polymer on an external surface of the hollow fiber membrane is 25 to 50 mass %, characterized in that when said hollow fiber membrane bundle is divided into 10 pieces in the longitudinal direction at nearly even intervals, the resultant respective fractions are subjected to the extraction by the test method according to the manufacturing approval standard for a dialysis type artificial kidney, and the resultant respective extracted fluids are measured with respect to the UV absorbance in the wavelength range of 220 to 350 nm, the maximum value of the absorbance is less than 0.10 for all the fractions and the difference in the maximum and the minimum of said maximum values for respective fractions is 0.05 or less; and a method for manufacturing the above hollow fiber membrane bundle. The above hollow fiber membrane bundle has high water permeability, exhibits high safety and high stability of performance capabilities and also is excellent in module assembling characteristics, and thus can be suitably used for treating chronic renal failure.
