DATA PROTECTION METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply safely protect data saved on a storage medium used in a communication system consisting of a specified server computer such as a POS (Point Of Sales) system, and a specified data communication terminal.

SOLUTION: A data protection method comprises: encrypting the data by using a first encryption key for saving the data on the storage medium; and decrypting the data from the storage medium. The first encryption key encrypts the data by using inherent information on the storage medium for saving the data on the storage medium.
