<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a radio equipment with a wireless LAN card inserted to a card slot of a data terminal continuously searches an access point to waste a battery if the access point does not operate nearby. <P>SOLUTION: If a data terminal performs parameter setting upon a wireless LAN card, a probe request is transmitted to an access point. If a probe response can not be received, it is judged that the data terminal is disabled to connect with the access point, and the data terminal stops supplying power to the wireless LAN card.
