<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically establishing setting of a communications device which cooperates with a subscriber identification card, in a communications network. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for automatically setting a communications device, a device is set after detecting the identifier of the device and communicating with the device using a card through a network. This method has a preliminary step of detecting setting requirements, depending on the presence or the absence of events stored in the card.
