DC POWER CONVERTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC power converting device that stably operates at a constant voltage irrespective of the lightness or heaviness of a load and that can switch a switching element reliably. SOLUTION: A DC-DC converter of the full bridge configuration makes soft switching performed in an inverter circuit 2 at the primary side and a rectifier circuit 3 at the secondary side. A saturable reactor Lbt and a snubber capacitor C5 are inserted as an arm into the nodes N3 and N4 of the legs B3 and B4 of the rectifier circuit 3 connected to the secondary winding T2 of a transformer. The saturable reactor prevents the secondary side of the transformer from being short-circuited, and supplies electric power to the primary side through the transformer. The soft switching is made possible over a wide range without being affected by the lightness or heaviness of the load 1. The primary side switching elements can easily be controlled only by the phase control of the switching elements for controlling an output voltage, because a dead time range can be set in wide range under the conditions of the saturable reactor.
