PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balancing mechanism for an opening/closing body device improving durability and stabilizing operating force in opening/closing an opening/closing body. SOLUTION: This balancing mechanism for generating tensile force against the descent of the own weight of an overdoor (the opening/closing body) 1 put in opening/closing operation by moving along guide rails 5 provided with vertical rail parts 5a and horizontal rail parts 5b, is provided with a weight means 14 for generating the tensile force by vertical load and constituted to change the vertical load of the weight means 14 according to the opening/closing operation of the overdoor 1. As an embodiment, one end of a wire 12 is connected to the lower end of the overdoor 1, and the weight means 14 is composed of a plurality of weights 16 connected to the other end side of the wire 12.
