METHOD FOR OPERATING COPPER CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method by which the wear of lining refractories can be suppressed and the durability of a copper converter can be improved by continuously and constantly measuring the temperature of molten matter when operating the copper converter and precisely controlling the charging weight of a coolant according to fluctuations in the temperature of the molten matter. SOLUTION: The temperature of the surface of the molten matter is continuously measured. The resultant measured temperature of the surface of the molten matter is compared with a preset target temperature. A preset target charging weight of the coolant is corrected according to a temperature difference between the measured temperature and the target temperature, and the coolant is charged according to the charging weight which is set up by the correction of the target charging weight.
