PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device with a simple constitution, certainly eliminating attraction between sheets in wide range of materials from a thick sheet to a thin sheet, preventing generation of misfeeding and superposing feeding, and enhancing reliability. SOLUTION: The sheet feed device has: a sheet stacking means for stacking the sheets; an adsorption belt 407 for feeding out the sheets from the uppermost sheet stacked on the sheet stacking means by every one sheet; an air blowing means for blowing air to a side surface of an upper part of the sheet bundle stacked on the sheet stacking means; and an air speed varying means for varying air speed of the air blown from the air blowing means by vertically moving a shutter 415 having a slit 416. In the case of the thin sheet, the shutter 415 is vertically moved, and in the case of the thick sheet, the shutter 415 is fixed to the neighborhood of the uppermost sheet.
