A microprocessor enables a portion of start loading program stored in flash memory to be copied into a main memory of the security module. A portion of an application program offered in communication interface of the module, is stored on a free space of the flash memory, when the corresponding identifier data characterize a successor status and the authenticity of the loaded program is checked. An Independent claim is included for microprocessor-operated security module functionality modifying method.
