The present invention describes a process for preparing a poly vinyl chloride solution of a low molecular weight having a reduced number of branches, inner unsaturations and in general structural flaws affecting the thermal stability of the same. The preparation of the catalytic system consists in the combination of an organometallic compound (metallocene catalyst) having the following formula LM(X)3 and a polyalkyl aluminoxane as a co-catalyst.
