摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery using a positive substance that enhances the cycle characteristic of secondary batteries of 5V class, and improves the reliability during the operation of the secondary batteries of 5V class at an elevated temperature. <P>SOLUTION: A secondary battery is made using an active substance including an oxide represented as a general formula (1) LiM<SP>1</SP><SB>a</SB>M<SP>2</SP><SB>2-a</SB>O<SB>4</SB>and an oxide represented as a general formula (2) M<SP>3</SP><SB>b</SB>M<SP>2</SP><SB>c</SB>O. In the general formula (1), M<SP>1</SP>is one or two or more transition metals selected from groups comprised of Ni, Cr, Fe, Co and Cu. Further, M<SP>2</SP>denotes one or more elements that require Mn absolutely. One part of Mn may substitute for Ti or Si, and 0.4<a<1.1. In the general formula (2), M<SP>2</SP>denotes one or more elements that require Mn absolutely. One part of Mn may substitute for Ti or Si. Further, M<SP>3</SP>is one or two or more elements that require one or two or more elements absolutely selected from groups comprised of Bi, La, Nd, Sm and Ta.
