<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus for enabling a user to easily input a Chinese character whose "reading" is not clear, and whose shape is vaguely recalled, and for improving a recognition rate. <P>SOLUTION: A user inputs a Chinese character configuring section by handwriting to a handwriting input region 20. The Chinese character configuring section is obtained as a dividable portion configuring Chinese characters. An electronic dictionary device displays the Chinese character configuring section as a candidate in a Chinese character configuring section candidate display region 21 based on the inputted Chinese character configuring section. The user selects a desired Chinese character configuring section from the candidate of the Chinese character configuring section, and moves it to a creation region 24. The electronic equipment displays Chinese characters including the moved Chinese character configuring section as candidates in a Chinese character candidate display region 25.
