PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strong crescent lock not unlocked even by wrenching it open with a bar or the like by reinforcing the strength of a crescent bracket by general machining treatment. SOLUTION: This crescent lock 1 comprises a locking side fitting 4 provided with a turnably mounted crescent 7 and fixed to the indoor sash side, and the crescent bracket 8 provided with a hook part 8C with which the crescent is engaged, and fixed to the outdoor sash side. The crescent bracket 8 formed by cuting out the inside of an approximately square metal plate, has a tip side frame piece part 8D, an upper frame piece part 8E and a lower frame piece part 8F. The hook part 8C engaged with the crescent 7 is formed at an inner side part of the tip side frame piece part 8D, and step difference is formed at least at the three sides of the tip side frame piece part 8D, upper frame piece part 8E and lower frame piece part 8F so that the inner side parts 8d-8f are recessed onto the outdoor side rather than outer side parts 8h-8j.
