PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element, whose configuration is simple and the filter media of the filter element where the filter media is easily taken out from the interior of the element. SOLUTION: The filter element 10 is provided with a casing 20, a lid member 40 and the filter media 30. The casing 20 has an end plate 22 with a through-hole 23 at its center, one end in an axial direction of which is fixed along the circumferential edge of the plate 22, and an external cylinder 26 of almost cylindrical shape where a plurality of through-holes 26a are formed. The member 40 is detachably fixed to the other end in the axial direction of the cylinder 26 so as to cover the other end of the cylinder 26. The media 30 is almost cylindrical, and is insertably disposed from the other end in the axial direction of the cylinder 26 inside the cylinder 26.
