PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new antiseptic agent, especially an antiseptic agent exhibiting an excellent anti-septic action on the employment for an aqueous composition such as a medicine for ophthalmology, and to obtain the aqueous composition to which an excellent antiseptic action is imparted. SOLUTION: The antiseptic agent contains ketotifen or its salt as an active ingredient, and the aqueous composition contains the antiseptic agent. Preferably, the antiseptic agent furthermore contains at least one ingredient selected from the group consisting of glycerol, sorbic acid, sorbates, terpenoids, boric acid and borates as an active ingredient.
