PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air intake and exhaust device which can effectively cool a heat generating element by air flow generated by a fan and which can realize space-saving and noise reduction. SOLUTION: The air intake and exhaust device includes an axial flow fan 7 having vanes around a rotary shaft and a duct 8 which divides part of exhaust air flow from the axial flow fan 7, the duct 8 being constituted so that the air flow immediately after being discharged from the axial flow fan 7 branches in a direction different from the direction of the rotary shaft of the axial flow fan 7. The different direction substantially coincides with the direction of rotation of the axial flow fan 7 in a field where the duct 8 encounters the axial flow fan 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
