The converter has two drivers connected to an output node. A controller (140) is connected to the drivers for performing a transition of an input signal to an output signal. One of the drivers is in an active state for only a predetermined time period. A pre-charge circuit charges a control node to supply voltage. One of the drivers is in the active state until the output signal reaches logic threshold voltage. An independent claim is also included for a method for converting an input signal from a supply voltage to another supply voltage.
